Here is an actual email I got back from Verizon when asking for a detailed bill.

We have reviewed the billing for this line and found since the calls were received while the phone was roaming internationally the incoming phone numbers will not be available. The reason that this happens is that the caller Id was not available for the phone number that the call was coming from since the phone was roaming on towers that are not Verizon Wireless.
It is possible, but not guaranteed that this information can be located if a copy of a subpoena can be provided. You must have a lawyer contact us to get the contact information for our Legal Department.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

Try cancelling the service and then you will find thats when the real fun begins with Verizon. Definitely one the worst experience dealing with a customer oriented company.

Update - DSL still flakey and no call back from Verizon. Joyce called to get an update. They had closed the case without calling, so Joyce told them to reopen it. Once again, the woman had us go thru the same steps of powering on and off the modem, disconnecting everything else in the house, yadda, yadda, yadda ... then, after talking to her supervisor, all she could do was run a 24 hour test.

The suspicious conspiracy theorist NYer in me thinks this is all just a plan to try to get me to convert to fiber. I'd switch, but that's just what Verizon wants me to do. I won't give them the satisfaction.

“Windows”

Now see, there's your problem... you need a Mac. ;-)

Just kidding - but you've hit on something that makes my blood boil - voice response menu systems. Nothing like having to clearly enunciate your bank account number or something similar over the phone - and especially when you work in a cubicle environment. Can you imagine if doctor's offices implemented such a beast?

"Thank you for calling Dr. Smith's appointment line. Please state the reason for your call"

"mumble..mumble"

"I'm sorry, I did not understand that, will you repeat it?"

"Hemmhmmbmb"

"Please repeat it slower and more clearly"

"HEHMORROIDS!!!"
